Die Casting: Die Lubricants
Chem-Trend's die lubricants have long been recognized as the
industry leaders in productivity and reliability. In fact, Chem-Trend
created the first effective water-based die lubricant over forty
years ago. Our commitment to continuously advancing the performance
of our technology has allowed Chem-Trend to offer high pressure
die casters the most comprehensive product line of liquid and powdered
die lubricants for aluminum, magnesium,
zinc, squeeze and semi-solid
casting operations.
Aluminum Casting

Extensive
laboratory development and diagnostic capabilities have
resulted in products with hotter die surface adhesion
properties.. |

Aluminum die
casting drives the industry, and Chem-Trend has
been there providing quality lubricants to high-pressure die casters
since 1962. The demand for more complex castings and reduced processing
times has lead to the development of Chem-Trend die lubricants
that offer increased wetting and film forming at higher die temperatures.
Our new range of die lubricants is a prime example of how Chem-Trend
is responding to the demands of the industry for reducing cycle
times and increasing productivity. These new products offer the
benefit of hotter die surface adhesion, thus reducing the time required
for reaching acceptable die temperatures for optimum lubricant application.
Unique combinations of ingredients are combined to produce perfectly-balanced
formulations that result in superior release and brighter castings,
less gas generation and greater protection of the die against pitting
and corrosion.
Magnesium Casting

Bigger,
more complex magnesium parts require the better flow and
release capabilities of Chem-Trend die lubricants. |
|
Today's lighter
weight, thin-walled magnesium castings need the performance of die
lubricants specially formulated by Chem-Trend for the magnesium
process. Coupling that with the needs of manufacturers to produce
cleaner, installation-ready component parts makes utilizing Chem-Trend
die lubricants more critical. Chem-Trend's innovative technologies
meet the challenge with non-staining characteristics while maintaining
the release ease, superior metal flow and excellent solder protection
throughout the product line.
Zinc Casting
The high quality surface finish demands of zinc-based products have
challenged the industry for decades. From automotive trim to bathroom
fixtures, our products have proven themselves the world over.
If customer parts require painting, Chem-Trend has the answer
with lubricants that will not interfere with most post-finishing
needs. Chem-Trend's die lubricants also offer excellent release
and good lubrication for pins and ejectors while burning more cleanly
during application. Chem-Trend's range of zinc die lubricants
is available under the Safety-Lube® brand name and
also includes superior technology from the Metalstar®
range.
Squeeze Casting
Manufacturers of squeeze cast parts continuously push the die lubricant
performance parameters by making castings that are structurally
stronger by using heat treatable alloys. From high-end automotive
wheels to a variety of pump housings, Chem-Trend's die lubricants
offer excellent insulation and laminar fill properties that reduce
out gassing, while maximizing product strength integrity and finish
appearance.
