Tire: Mold Treatments

Mono-Coat^® mold treatments help facilitate controlled release from tire molds and help delay the onset of mold fouling. When applied as directed, they will keep tire molds in service longer between cleanings.

Tire manufacturers using a two-piece mold process know the difficulties in extracting the finished tire from the top half of a mold: production downtime and damage to the finished tire. Regular application of a Mono-Coat^® mold treatment helps keep the tire seated in the bottom half of a mold while ensuring easy top-half release. Manufacturers using segmented molds will realize a reduction in mold fouling. Mono-Coat^® mold treatments can also be applied to cold tire molds immediately after cleaning to help protect them in storage against corrosion.
